HAITI

Night wanderers

These people can be seen only when car lights break the full darkness of the road.

In  Ethiopia hundreds of people travel every night along unilluminated roads. They go working in distant fields, they take the harvest to far markets or they go to wells or rivers kilometers away to provide drinkable water for their family. They travel by night to get to their destination early in the morning, or just to avoid heat. They  travel alone or in small groups, using  donkey- or horse-drawn carriage, or simply walking. Traveling in the dark is dangerous, as the same roads are the main connecting route for cars, buses and trucks.
